The Burial of Jesus

The cross of Jesus Christ is the great “sign” anticipated throughout the Gospel of John. In John 19:31-42, the unbelieving Jew viewed Jesus simply as a dead man while Pilate had sensed and wrestled with the knowledge that the pending death of Jesus was huge and of great significance. From the beginning, Jesus had looked to this hour to define His person and mission.
